Colony Gameplay Guide
To play Colony: Survival, develop your base, recruit Colonists, gather resources and prepare your combat team. Use chat to guide your Colonist, the Fabricator for cosmetic 3D gear and Skipjack for crafting solutions to Colony problems.

Create Your Colonist
Shape your Colonist's personality at the start of the game. Their attitudes and motivations influence the character you will talk with as you work toward your goals.
Begin Life in the Colony
Build your base around the Reactor, then expand with buildings such as the Barracks and Canteen. Gather resources, recruit Colonists and upgrade buildings to develop your settlement.
Craft Equipment and Supplies
The Fabricator lets you describe equippable 3D cosmetic items, including weapons and helmets. Review the 2D preview before creating the 3D item, then equip it on a Colonist. This feature uses Weave, the Fabricator currency.
Skipjack is a separate interactive character who turns your ideas for weapons or tools into usable in-game items to solve larger Colony problems. Talking with your Colonist is distinct from using the Fabricator.
Talk With Your Colonist
Use the chat interface to discuss decisions, suggest ideas and work toward goals with your Colonist. Their personality helps shape their responses and motivations.
Improve Your Colonist's Skills
Earn experience and choose from the skill offers available as your Colonist progresses. Review the effects of each skill, such as crafting-speed or resource-gathering bonuses, to choose one that supports your plans.
Complete Colony Challenges
Your Colony encounters challenges that call for decisions and creative solutions. In Dilemmas, custom responses let you propose your own approach instead of only choosing a preset option; access may depend on your subscription.
Play PvP and PvE Battles
Prepare your combat team for PvE lane battles, which are available now. On the PvP world map, you can scout other players' colonies, send Convoys to attack them and compete on the leaderboard.
Scouting and attacking computer-controlled PvE colonies on the world map is coming soon. This is separate from the live PvE lane battles.
Explore Open-Ended Play
Talk with your Colonist, develop your base and try creative item ideas between major objectives. The Colony cheatsheet provides a quick reminder of the main systems.
Respond to Colony Events
Read each event's objective and timing in the game. Work with Skipjack on items that address the problem and manage your resources and crafting queue around the current challenge.
