Colony Game Guide

Colony FAQ

Colony: Survival tracks Mood and Morale, offers skills as you progress and uses a timed queue for crafted items. This FAQ explains those systems and how they differ from creating cosmetic gear in the Fabricator.

How Do Mood and Morale Work?

Mood and Morale are the Colonist stats tracked in the current game. Activities, conversations and Colony events can affect them, and Morale contributes to crafting speed.

How Do Skills Work?

As your Colonist progresses, you choose from offered skills. Skills provide bonuses such as faster crafting or improved resource gathering; review each offer's effect before choosing.

What Affects Crafted Item Quality?

Crafted item quality is rolled from Common through Legendary. The materials consumed can improve the chances of higher quality, but do not guarantee a particular outcome.

Fabricator cosmetics use a separate creation system. Generating a 3D weapon or helmet changes what your Colonist can wear; it is not the same process as crafting an item for a Colony challenge.

How Long Does Crafting Take?

Crafts enter a queue with a completion time. The duration depends on the configured recipe timing, active crafting bonuses, Morale and Colonist support, so there is no fixed duration that applies to every item tier.

How Are the Fabricator and Skipjack Different?

The Fabricator uses Weave to generate cosmetic 3D items from a description and a 2D preview. Skipjack helps design usable items for Colony problems, which are crafted using materials and the crafting queue.

Read the Colony gameplay guide for an overview of both systems.
