Onchain Summer Packs
To celebrate Onchain Summer 2024, Parallel has 3 exclusive mints now available! For one day only; June 27, you can mint our Open Mint Card Back here! Otherwise, check out our Starter and Booster Bundles available all summer!
Bounties 2.0
Bounties 2.0 will offer a new way to earn rewards within Parallel, with a primary focus on core gameplay and progression. With Bounties 2.0, players will now be able to progress and complete new Bounties within Unranked and Ranked modes, earning themselves Apparition Packs as well as Premium Packs directly through gameplay.
Apparition Packs are earned by completing "easy" Bounties and Premium Packs are earned by completing "hard" Bounties. These Bounties are limited; each day a player will receive new Bounties that they can complete. Once the player has completed all of their held Bounties they must wait for the next day to receive more, similar to Daily Missions.
A player can hold a maximum of 7 "easy" Bounties and 3 "hard" Bounties. You can complete Bounties at any time, however, once you run out of held Bounties you must wait until the next day to receive more. Keep in mind, however, that once you reach the maximum amount of held Bounties any further Bounties that you would have received will be lost.
Ranked MMR Updates
With this update, we are implementing various improvements to our Ranked MMR and matchmaking systems. As we continue to gather both player data and feedback we will also continue to adjust and improve these systems.
The following changes have been made to deliver the best player experience within Ranked mode:
-
Amount of MMR received/penalized to now be based on outcome compared to expected performance.
-
Starting in July, we are moving towards a soft reset that roughly maintains relative skill rating positions among players. Note: hard resets will be used periodically.
-
Rank concealment period will be reduced to 1 day.
-
Early concede penalty to better account for network and server issues.
-
Subranks have been adjusted to better reflect rank design.
-
Matchmaking algorithm has been further tuned towards creating more fair matchups.
As these systematic changes begin to roll out please continue to provide your feedback and experiences so we can further improve these systems.
In-game Tournaments Update
We will begin scheduling Standard Tournaments on Friday, June 28th. High Stakes Tournaments are intended to go live as soon as possible. We will share an announcement once live.
Improved Player Bug Reporting Tools
Our latest patch also includes our new in-game reporting option. Reporting will now automatically include the most important pieces of info, further streamlining our bug-report-to-fix process. Visit the menu in the top right corner of the game to report a bug while playing!
Card Changes
Message from the Game Team
Our second Planetfall balance patch is aimed directly at Kathari. Despite having winrates that weren’t necessarily problematic (temporary high of ~52% across all players, averaging ~49%), the Kathari parallel was heavily overrepresented at all levels of play. These changes are aimed at bringing down the frequency of Kathari decks and increasing diversity in the metagame.
Scipius’ passive brings a ton of value to the basic action of banking resources. This should keep the token cycling and go-wide style alive without letting it become too powerful of a value engine.
Reducing the number of cards wasted from merely playing Triumph will, in turn, reduce how effective the card is at finding specific resources or answers early in the game while leaving enough power in the card to still create powerful rebuilding scenarios after heavy losses. To prevent multiple copies of Triumph from just recycling the same Units, we’re choosing to get rid of the returned Units entirely rather than letting them get wasted again.
The Rubicon is performing quite well as a powerful flagship. There’s room to remove power here without making the card too weak to be impactful.
This change is looking to inject some fun (and power) into an underutilized exclusive card.
Speaking of rolling back changes, we’re restoring the Health portion of Gaffar’s buff for a Unit gaining Pacifist.
